How to measure your Ocah.
The tape measure is placed across the bottom of the carrier across the top of the waistband. This is the INCORRECT way to measure your carrier as your child does not sit right at the bottom of the carrier. The tape measure shows that this part of the carrier is just 16" wide.
To get the CORRECT measurement of your carrier we are going to measure the width of the seat, the area where your child sits in the carrier. To do this you need to fold the waistband underneath the body of the carrier as shown below. The seat of the carrier here measures 17.5" wide. Tip: in order to get the true measurement you may find you need to hold the carrier and the tape measure together as you measure (you can see from the picture that the carrier is not laying flat on the table)
To get the correct height of the carrier you need to fold the carrier along the seat dart as shown in the photograph below and measure along the curve of the body from the top to the bottom stopping where the body joins the waistband.
Things that can affect the size of your carrier:
Wear. The very nature of wrap fabric means that there is some give in it which may cause your carrier to stretch a little after repeated use. If this is something that bothers you then you can wash your carrier in order that the Wrap fabric shrinks back to size which brings us to.............
Shrinkage. When a wrap is is washed and dried it will shrink a little but this shrinkage is not permanent. You should iron your Wrap conversion when it has been washed and dried by gently pulling it back to shape whilst ironing.
