Ocah Update for Autumn 2014.

Hello everyone, 

How are you enjoying the summer ? I hope that you are having good weather where ever you are.  We are in the middle of our girls summer holidays and we have been enjoying some rare ongoing warm weather here in the UK.  

There is is some important information and updates regarding Ocah right here in this blog post as well as the all important information on the availability of the next custom slots. So please get comfy, crack open a beer or make yourself a nice cup of tea and read on.

 Ocah and CPSIA Compliance:  

I am continuing to work my way through the all of the required CPSIA Compliance in order that I can continue to sew carriers for customers living in the US.  This is proving to be a lengthy process due to there being limited resources in the UK to do this but I am working with a Quality Consultant on this and we are determined that it will be done with as little disruption to services as is possible.

It is my intention that I will  get as many as my current designs passed , I am not really wanting to offer limited options with regards to the Ocah designs.  I will keep you all updated as things proceed.  

Needless to say CPSIA compliance continues to be a huge drain on my time and finances but if I didn't think it was 100% worth it I would not have proceeded thus far. I enjoy making carriers, I love my customers in the US and I am  fully committed to meeting CPSIA requirements.

Custom slots for US Mamas in October and November 2014.

Having said all of that it is looking unlikely that Ocah carriers will meet the CPSIA requirements by the deadline of 29th September 2014 and so I will not be taking orders for carriers to be shipped to addresses in the US for sewing in October or November.  We are working hard to get everything together to offer slots in November that will be sewn in December 2014.  

This means that these next slots for sewing in September will be the last available for a while for shipping to addresses in the US.

 

Changes in the terms for Custom orders. 

When providing information for new slots to potential customers I always provide a date by which the customer would need to complete their order form and a date by which their wrap would need to arrive with me at my studio. I ask that if potential customers are not able to meet these deadlines that they do not proceed a purchase a slot.

On purchasing a slot I send customers information on how to proceed with sending their wrap to me and details on how to complete their order form, again they are reminded of the dates by which these things need to happen. These deadlines are really important to me. 

I have been having problems for several months with customers not completing their order forms on time and have wraps arriving at my studio weeks or even months after the deadline has passed.  More often than not I do not hear from these customers and have to spend valuable sewing time sat at my computer writing emails trying to get customers to send in order forms or organise the shipping of their wraps.  

I work on my own and I have to plan and work to a tight schedule in order that my business can operate successfully. Ocah is not my only job, I am a Mama to 4 girls and life is busy. In order to remove some of the stress that has ben developing in recent months with these delays I am now going to state that if you miss the deadline for completing your order form or your wrap does not arrive at my studio on time I will be cancelling your slot and providing a refund minus a £20 administration fee for my time. 

OK, so I know that sometimes stuff happens and life gets in the way of best laid plans and all that , so come talk to me, do not just ignore the deadlines and hope that it will be O.K.

I will not be sewing any custom orders in October.  It is my intention to take a break from sewing in order to work on the CPSIA compliance, the Ocah website, blog, Bigcartel store,  and I need to do some much needed maintenance on my studio before winter arrives, .....oh and I have been sewing orders non stop for for as long as I can remember , ....oh and working full time hours and providing full-time childcare to my 4 wonderful girls through the summer is making me oh so tired, Yes, I think a break in October is much needed.  I am not going anywhere November slots will be listed in October, but carrier sewing will largely be on hold for a few weeks. 

 

 Slots listings for carriers to be sewn in September.

There will be:

10 x pre-paid slots for Full Buckle carriers / Reverse half buckle carriers will be available in the Ocah store on Monday 11th August. 

 

15 x Pre paid slot for Wrap conversion that are NOT full buckle carrier or reverse half buckle carriers will be available in the Ocah Store on Monday 11th August.

 

There will be no random draw this time around. 

 

The Pre-Paid Slots will be available to purchase from our Bigcartel  store  http://www.ocah.bigcartel.com/  from 8pm on Monday 11th August. We are on British Summer time (BST) here in the UK*

IMPORTANT:

 If you secure a slot we will email you with the details on how to proceed with placing your order with us.

We are always happy to help you with your order details but you will be required to complete and return your order form by Monday 1st September and all wraps will need to be in our studio by the same date.

Your order details will be emailed out to you for you to check and make any changes after we have your wrap and before we start work on your carrier. 

 If you cannot work to these dates please do not purchase a Custom slot at this time.  Failure to work to the above time scale will result in your slot being  cancelled and a refund provided minus a £20 administration fee. 

 

The cost of each Pre-paid slot will cover:

• Any Conversion and Shipping cost up to the value of £160

 

The cost of each Pre-paid slot will NOT cover:

• The cost fo the Wrap to be used to produce your custom Ocah Wrap Conversion.
• Any additional cost over and above the £160 value of this slot.
• Any cost incurred to ship your Wrap to the Ocah studio.
