The two sides of Felice

The Mama that sent this lovely Girasol Felice wrap for converting into a Ring Sling asked if it could be made reversible.  It is quite easy to turn a Gathered shouldered Ring sling around as the cut edge of the wrap is turned under before the shoulder is sewn giving it a neat edge, but on the SBP pleated shoulder the pleated edge is too thick to turn under and sew.  The way around this is to cover the raw edge with a band of fabric so that the cut edge is made to look neater and that is what I have done here. 

 

Ringing in the changes !

I have been working through an influx of Ring Sling orders today.  On the way home are:

A lovely Dyed Hoppediz wrap with a Gathered shoulder

A Natural Mamas exclusive Girasol wrap with a shoulder styled by the Mama herself.  It is like a reverse Hotdog shoulder, I cant wait to hear how is works with her little one !

The Gok Wan !

O.K so I realise that anyone that lives outside of the UK might not "get" the title of this post, but for those who are familiar with Mr Wan all will become clear in a mo.

The Mama that ordered this Ocah conversion originally started out with a Costa Rica wrap and Echino Scene fabric for her Hybrid conversion.  But then this lovely Ellevill Aubergin wrap became available and the Mama fell in love with it and had to sent to me for her conversion.  The change in the wrap led to the question of whether to use Echino scene fabric or not but after some consideration it was decided that this wrap would look good naked and hence forth this conversion has been referred to as the "Gok Wan" .  This Ocah carrier  has a Clipee waist, Seat darts in the body, Duo straps, Adjustable sleep hood, Arms out padding, and Leg padding.

The Mama (and Papa) were great fun to work with when working out the details of this conversion.  Both Mama and Papa work with Aeroplanes and wanted Aeroplane appliques, lots of Aeroplanes appliques in bright colours too, and so that is exactly what they got.  

This Ocah conversion is made using a Storchenwiege Marine wrap with Alexander Henry 2D Zoo fabric on the front and those aeroplane appliques on the reverse.  It is an "in-between size" conversion with a Padded waist and seat darts.  It has Custom ordered Duo straps, Adjustable sleep hood and Extra top stitching on the waist.  

 

 

On the crest of a Wave...........

The Mama that ordered this Ocah conversion certainly was on the crest of a wave.  She delivered her new baby hours before the Postman delivered this Ocah carrier to her, what perfect timing ;o)   CONGRATULATIONS MAMA xx

This Ocah Conversion has been made using a Didymos Blue Waves wrap.   It is a Padded waist conversion with duo straps,  Leg padding, Arms out padding and has Extra top stitching on the waist.

 

 

All the same but a little bit different !

These three Ocah Ring Slings have been made for three Mamas from the Natural Mamas forum using the very lovely Exclusive Natural Mamas Girasol ! Whooooop !!

I love that the three Mamas that shared this 6m long girasol all wanted a different style shoulder for their Ringslings. 

First of all is the SBP style shoulder used with kind permission of Jan Andrea at Sleeping Baby productions I used extra narrower pleats on this shoulder in order that I could get all of the stripes in ;O)

 

Next there was the Hotdog style shoulder:

 

And then there was the Simple Gathered shoulder:

 

 

Winter Sunshine

We seem to have had many grey dark days in the UK in December.   Somedays it just doesnt seem to get properly light.  It was great to work on this Hoppediz Madrid Ocah conversion as it  brought a lovely ray of sunshine to dark December day.

This Ocah conversion is a Padded waist conversion with seat darts.  It has padded Mei Tai style straps.
