What can I say.  I love it ! This Custom Ocah Hybrid conversion is made using fabric which I believe is called "Bird in a Tree" from  Etsuko Furuya.  I used a Casablanca Hoppediz wrap that I dyed using a combination fo 4 colours to achieve this wonderful contrast that compliments the cotton fabric really nicely.  The conversion is toddler sized and has custom Duo straps, Adjustable sleep hood, and additional top stitching on the waist band.  This conversion is reversible as seen in the pictures below. 

 

Slot Availability & General Update

In the 5 years since I started sewing Wrap Conversions I have introduced only one other price increase. I dont like increasing my prices if I could sew for free I honestly would, I like sewing.  But Ocah is my business and it is time that I get real with my prices.  

In January 2013 I sat down to do my Tax return and was somewhat dismayed to discover that last year I earned just £1.53 per hour.  You hear carrier makers saying that there isn't big profits to be had in making baby Carriers ? you had better believe it, it is true.  

I do appreciate that my price increase may put my carriers out of the reach of some people, but I have to be realistic, I am not making basic carriers aimed at Newbie Babywearers. The majority of my customers are expereinced Babywearers that want quality customised carriers with all the bells and whistles. I have done my research and my prices were quite a lot lower than what people were prepared to pay for a 2nd, 3rd, 4th hand for an Ocah carrier.  I have also been charging considerably lower than the charges made by other other comparable Carrier makers.

Capetown Classic.

This lovely Capetown Hoppediz wrap conversion has Seat darts, one continuous waistband with padding, Adjustable sleep hood,  Duo straps,  and the top part of the body of the carrier has had padding added.

Mary Mary.....

...........quite contrary how does your garden grow ? with silver bells and cockle shells and little maids dressed in a row !  I love this Nursery Ryhme it is one that we used to sing when I was a child and reminds me so much of my Grandma Mary who was much loved and quite contrary !

This special conversion is made from a Hoppediz Toulouse wrap and is a Pocket Ocah with Seat darts and padded waist.  It has an Adjustable Sleephood which is remeovable, Duo straps and Custom Leg padding.  The Velvety Mama that ordered this conversion also requested a Mary Quant inspired Applique which soon became several Mary Quant inspired Appliques, all of them made from different peices of wrap.

I love working with Paris Hoppediz wraps and this one is really special.  After spending some time with a fab Mama who is working on our pictures for our wearing instructions this wrap conversion will be sold with all proceeds going to Comic Relief  This National fund raising event will be well known to many people in the UK as a day of fundraising frolics raising money to fight the effects of poverty here in the UK and also abroad in other countries.

French Lavender Florenz

This Hoppediz Florenz wrap was dyed French Lavender before being converted into a Padded strapped conversion with Custom Duo straps and Adjustable sleep hood.  This conversion is probably the last that I will sew from a new Hoppediz Florenz wrap as they are now discontinued which is a great shame as they make lovely conversions and are very popular.

BBslen Papaya

I love the colours of the BBslen Papaya they are so bright and cheery.  This conversion is a Padded strapped conversion with seat darts.  It has custom Duo straps, adjustable sleep hood and leg padding.

   

 

Luscious Lille

There is something really nice about sewing Standard conversions.   Don't get me wrong I love working on any of my designs, but the simple straight lines of the Standard conversion are really pleasing to sew.

This lovely Hoppediz Lille conversion is a standard conversion.  The stripes run horizontally on the reverse of the carrier and sleep hood.

Fun Frogs !

I laughed out loud when I received this Cotton fabric with lots of fun loving frogs on it. 
This is a Hybrid conversion is made from a Didymos Waves wrap custom fabric and has a custom adjustable sleep Hood.  It is fully reversible with Lime waves wrap fabric on the the reverse of the froggy fabric.

Lovely Lovely Lavendel

Oooooh how I loved working with this soft and snuggly Didymos Lavendel wrap !  The conversion is a Hybrid conversion with hand printed cotton fabric on the front and sleep hood.  This conversion also has an adjustable sleep hood and is fully reversible to Lavendel on the body.
