IMPORTANT: If you are shipping a wrap to us from outside of the EU you must clearly write the following information on your parcel in order to avoid paying Customs Fees.
IPR reference: IP/0902/288/14
If you do not clearly write this information on your parcel and it is caught up in customs you will be liable for any customs fees charged when your parcel enters the UK.
After 8 long months of working through paperwork, much of which made no sense to us, we have finally been notified that our application to be awarded Inward Processing Relief (IPR) has been approved.
We had hoped the process of receiving approval for IPR would have been given much quicker and having been informed by Her Majestys Custom and Excise dept that we could apply for a refund on any custom charges made whilst they were considering our application we agreed to pay the customs fees of incoming parcels and paid a total of £490 in charges. It would seem thowever that HMC are not used to dealing with businesses set up as Sole traders and are more used to dealing with Shipping agents acting on behalf of much much larger companies and so due to the length of time it has taken for them to deal with our application,we have now lost the window of opportunity to apply for a refund on the money we have paid.
In order are allowed to use IPR we are required to fill out a lof forms when we receive each a parcel from outside the EU and have to prove that we are returning the wrap to the same address, if we get this wrong we will be fined £2500 yikes !! And so if you are sending a wrap from out side of the EU your assistance is vital in adding these two numbers below in order that this process runs as smoothly as possible.
