Nautrally Oak-ah.

I have to admit that when I received a photograph of an Oak tree for the applique on this carrier I did wonder how the finer shaping of the canopy might turn out, especially using a piece of Didymos Indio wrap fabric as Indios are notorious for fraying as soon as they are cut. In the event after working on the design for a while I managed to get a shape that I was happy with before  transferring it over to the Indio fabric and then sewing it on the front of the carrier before it frayed too much.  I am really happy with the end result and I hope the Mama that I made this carrier for will be too.   I also have to say that this one of the most tactile conversions that I have ever made ! it is so soft and at the same time the cotton and linen threads in the Didymos wraps make it really sturdy.

So this is a Padded waist Conversion with seat darts.  It has Duo straps and an Adjustable Sleephood.  The Shoulder straps, waist strap, reverse of the body and hood, and the applique are all made using Didymos Yew Indio Wrap.  The front of the body and the front of the sleep hood are made using a Didymos Linen Indio wrap.  A great combination ;O) 

 

Good enough to eat !

The Front of this fun and Funky Ocah carrier is pieced together using two of the prints from the Very Hungry Caterpillar range by Mokower.  The Reverse of the sleephood is made using the same print with the front of the sleep hood and the rest of the carrier is made from a Hoppediz Tolouse wrap. It is a Toddler sized Hybrid conversion with Duo straps, Adjustable sleep hood with Applique, Leg padding, Arms out padding and additional stitching on the waistband.

The Bahama scene.

This Ocah conversion has been made using a Hoppediz Miami wrap that has been dyed using Dylons Bahama Blue dye.  The Fabric on the front of the carrier is Purple Scene from Echino.

This is a Custom sized Ocah measuring 13" wide and 15.5" tall (not including the waistband).  It is a Hybrid conversion with Duo straps, Adjustable sleep hood, Leg padding and extra topstitching on the waist.

 

3 Layer wrap Conversions made the Traditional way, and Ocah Mei Tais made from wrap fabric now available ;O)

It's all as the title says really, we have had several request to make 3 layer conversions for heavier babies and toddlers. We have made several of these already and they have proved popular and so we are offering a 3 layer wrap conversion using an inner layer of wrap supplied by us (so you have no need to worry about getting a longer wrap). This 3 layer conversion provides heavy duty support whilst still having the cushy wrappyness that comes from having a carrier made only from wrap fabric.

We can also make the Ocah Mei Tai from Wrap fabric this is the samebody and hood design as the wrap conversion but has 2 layers of organic cotton twill fabric in the body of the carrier, one layer of organic cotton twill in the sleep hood and waist strap, and extra cushy padding in the shoulder straps, (not technically a tradtionally made wrap conversion, as it is constructed differently and uses materials other than wrap fabric in its main construction, so it is a Mei Tai made from wrap fabric ;O)

High flying family.

You may recall that in December I made an Ocah conversion for a family who loved to fly.  This is the second Ocah for this family and it was just as much fun to make as the first.  The applique shows a "Daddy" Plane flying with his "Baby" plane soaring beneath him.  The Mamas choice of wrap and fabric worked out amazing, I just love working with the Didymos Jade Jim wrap, he is such a smart wrap to sew !

This is a Padded waist conversion with Duo straps, Adjustable sleep hood, Leg padding, and extra topstitching on the waist. It is a small toddler sized conversion.

 

 

Choco Flora

This Ocah carrier has been made using Amy Butlers Grandiflora fabric with a Girasol Chocobannana wrap. 

It is a Hybrid conversion with wrap straps, Adjustable sleep hood, and leg padding.

I have to admit that I have never really paid much attention to Amy Butlers Lacework fabric until I received some in the post for this Mamas conversion and now I love it.  With the Lotus Flower fabric there was a beautiful Orgnaic Nati wrap in a mid brown that is a perfect match !

This Ocah conversion is a padded waist conversion with Wrap straps, an Adjustable sleep hood, leg Padding and a lovely Lotus flower Applique.

 

 

 

 

Winters Nest

I was so lucky to get not one but two hand printed fabrics to work with this month !  Another first for me this month is a first Custom order for a Mama in Australia :O) .

I am so in love with this fabric.  It is "Winters Nest" and it has been designed by Australian Artist  Kristen Doran. The Wrap that has been used is a Hoppediz Costa Rica.  This Conversion is a Hybrid Clipee with Duo straps, Adjustable Sleep Hood, Arms out padding, Leg padding, and additional stitching on the sleep hood.
 

 

 

Winter Flowers

I loved working on this Ocah Hybrid Clipee, the second for a Mama who is just so much fun to work with :O).  This carrier has been made using a Hoppediz Cost Rica wrap and a Lovely Organic hemp blend fabric from Daisy Janie.  The fabric has been sewn on the reverse of sleep hood so that it is seen when the sleep hood is is use.  The same fabric has been used to create an applique on the front of the Sleep Hood.  In addition to being a Hybrid Clipee this Ocah has Duo straps, Adjustable Sleep Hood, Arms out Padding, Leg Padding and additional top stitching on the Waist.

 

 

Everything is coming up Roses.

This Ocah Clipee conversion has a beautiful Batik style fabric on the front of the carrier and the hood.   The Mama that ordered this Ocah conversion asked if I could sew an applique on the reverse of the carrier to match the fabric in the same way that she had had seen on this Ocah carrier .  The fabric lends itself really well to creating a matching applique as you will see below.  This Ocah conversion is made using a Hoppediz Costa Rica wrap and it has a Clipee waist , Duo straps, Adjustable Sleep Hood, Arms out Padding and Leg Padding.  It has XL straps and a custom designed applique on the reverse.
