The Queen of hearts Ocah Mei Tai

When Carla sent me her fabric for her new Ocah Mei Tai I laughed out loud ! these really are just perfect for this lovely bright fun loving Mama !  Carla chose what our testers called the "chunky Monkey" sized Ocah MT, it is BIG ! The front fabric is very nice but I cant remember who it is by ? come on Carla Help me out ! the inside of the carrier and the sleephood is made from a stunning red silk, and the straps are custom dyed black corduroy fabric (why custom dyed ? because It had to be a "true" black and the right quality fabric and so custom dyeing worked better in this instance to get what we wanted !)

The Green Silky Ocah Mei Tai

So you may recall that having designed a new Mei Tai I am working my way through orders from the lovely mamas in my test group.  This gives me the opportunity to get used to sewing the new design as well as tweaking anything that needs tweaking along the way.  The new Ocah Mei Tai which has yet to be named, will be on general sale from August 1st so look out for more information nearer the time.

First up of course had to be my buddy Claires fabrics.  She chose the green Enchino "scene" fabric and Hemp silk with "nearly white" Organic cotton twill straps. 

The Accapulco Hopp

The Accapulco Hoppediz wrap is one of my all time favourite wraps.  I really love the lovely blue and turquoise colours, great for summer or for cheering up a grey day :O)

This is a Standard Ocah conversion with custom Duo Straps. 

Yew beauty !

I hadn't worked with a Didymos wrap with Linen before and was quite suprised at just how much thicker and sturdier this Yew feels compared to the all Cotton Indios.  This is a Standard Ocah conversion with wrap straps and custom adjustable hood. 

Jade Deli with the bells and the whistles !

We didnt know how this Jade Deli wrap from Ellevil would work on a Ocah conversion, but oh wow it worked out just great :O)

I just love this conversion and could happily keep it for myself ! This Ocah conversion is a Clipee and has it all, custom Duo straps, Adjustable sleep hood, Leg padding,  Arms out padding, and extra top stitching on the waist..........and to the "Natural Mamas" who are reading this (the ones who like to try and work out who they know that might have ordered each Ocah conversion) this one is going to a lovely fun Mama from across the sea !

  

 

Hoppediz Le Paz

I have wanted to work with a Hoppediz Le Paz for a long time and finally I got to do it ! This lovely standard conversion is toddler sized with wrap straps,

The Manon Grise softy

This Ocah wrap conversion has been made from a Neobulle Manon Grise wrap.  The largest of these wraps measures just 4.5m and so it is shorter than I am used to working with, as I need 5m of wrap for a conversion with padded waist and seat darts.  However because the pattern on the wrap is small I was able to piece the waist band together from three length of wrap.  I had previously tested this type of pieced waist band for strength and durability and it works really well and doesn't wear any differently.  In theory this means that people who have wraps that are less than 5m in length may now be able to have the padded waist conversion with a pieced waist, great news for many with shorter wraps for conversion  ;O)

This conversion is a padded waist conversion with seat darts.  It has custom duo straps, adjustable sleep hood, leg padding and arms out padding.  I have found a new way of sewing the area that has the arms out padding in it and it is working much much better !  The small pictures show the padded area at the top of the carrier, this is the arms out padding.  The padding is the width between the shoulder straps and is 5cm in depth.  The Jade Deli pics that are coming up show the arms out padding nicely ;O)

 

The Big Update !

Wow ,  we just dont seem to have stopped for a moment since our Birthday nearly 1 whole month ago ! In addition to having lots of orders booked for wrap conversions I have been working on the New Ocah MT carriers for the lovely mamas in my tester group, pics of the first two that have been sewn will feature a little later.  This time of year seems to be really busy for us as a family.  our older girls Hannah and Abbie have lots going on for the end of school, Brownies and guides before the finish in 10 days for the summer, we've had sports days, school plays, Galas, cookouts, and Welly walks ! and thats not to mention the need to make the most if the sunshine by playing outside at every opportunity whilst the warm weather lasts

A Baby Wearing Daddy with a difference !

Back in February of this year a lovely Mama sent me a beautiful dyed Florenz Hoppediz wrap to convert for her.   This Mama is a regular poster on the  Natural Mamas Forum where I have been excitedly reading all about her wedding  plans.   Finally after lots of hard work and careful planning  on 26th May this Mama and her Man got Married !  Today I was really excited to hear that this Mama has posted some pictures of her Wedding on the forum .  I was really pleased to see that their little boy was worn in a carrier so that he could share in their special day, and OH WOW !  how great is it that not only was it Daddy who was wearing the little guy but he was wearing him in their Ocah Carrier !

this Babywearing family  have even been emortalised on their special day on top of their Wedding cake, how neat is that !

A huge congratulations to Jamie, Sean, Dillon and not forgetting Rosie the dog on your wedding and thank you so much for letting me share your babywearing Wedding, you guys rock !

 

Exceptional Elise

I was pretty amazed when I received this Didymos Elise wrap.  It is truly a reversible wrap which works beautifully either way around.

I have to confess that Elise caught us out.  We ordered the right size wrap for this Mamas conversion but I hadn't worked on the diamond pattern quite as big and so when it came to matching the sleep hood to the front of the carrier it just couldn't be squeezed out of the wrap that we had.  There was no way that this Ocah conversion was going to work with a mismatched hood and so there really was only one thing to do, we bought another Elise !  And I am so glad that we did as the symmetry of the pattern on the wrap works so well with the colours on both sides that it would have been a shame to get it wrong.
